Who Am I?

My name is Sierra and I am obsessed with travel! I have a particular obsession for finding ways to get the ‘best bang for your buck’, as well as passing that knowledge on to others.

I’m an Archaeologist, student, mom, military spouse, sister, and daughter. I’ve been lucky enough to experience living in several states in the US and have travelled abroad. Needless to say, I’ve learned a lot.

If my big girl job has taught me anything, it is to dig. This goes for travel planning too! Researching locations, spending an abusrd amount of time trying to find the best deals – it feels natural.

Whether it’s a vacation or another move, proper planning can make a world of difference!

The Travel Bug

I believe I first caught the travel bug during my first trip to Universal Orlando Resort when I was 13. I was hooked. Afterwards, I spent years just dying to return to Universal. So I eventually did. A lot! 

My journey began several years ago when I realized I had a passion for travel planning.

I began planning my own trips as a broke college student, desperate to return to Universal Studios for Halloween Horror Nights. There was a lot of trial and error, but eventually, I learned to navigate the complexities of theme park visits on an EXTREMELY limited budget.

Over the past decade, I have learned so much about the world of travel planning and love to share my tips and tricks. To the point that I think my family has become annoyed with me (jk!). But I have become the go-to planner for any group travel that we do!

My family truly sparked my passion for sharing my experiences and planning strategies. They often seemed surprised that we were able to get a good deal on a hotel, or able to upgrade to a higher cabin for free on our flight. 

After some time, I began looking into starting a blog to share my secrets. And 7 years later – here we are! 

Yes, it took me 7 years to finally start my blog. 

Obviously, starting and running a website is not an easy endeavor. However, my desire to document my experiences and hopefully help others conquer traveling eventually became too much. 

I recently began planning my next trip to Universal Orlando Resort, and the overwhelming urge to share my thoughts resurfaced. So here we go!

More than anything, I think people should travel. Experience new places, cultures, and things. Broaden your horizons.

I plan to start with a lot of Universal Orlando Resort content, since that is was has historically inspired me to start a blog. Then I’d like to share my experiences living in Hawaii (amazing!). Finally, I’ll most likely include other aspects of my life as a mom and military spouse.
